Castrol Honda Red Rider Peter Broxholme left for Japan yesterday where he will compete in the first round of an international series of SuperCross. Following an outstanding year in local SuperCross, Broxholme was selected by MNZ as the representative New Zealand rider to compete in the five round series, the first round of which is at Sugo, Japan. The series continues over the next four months and includes rounds in China, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Race team manager Dave Borlase said ‘the recognition that MNZ has shown in joining Blue Wing Honda in supporting Peter reflects the confidence which we have developed in Peter’s ability to race SuperCross and deal with the pressures that this explosive and aggressive form of competition demands. I feel that Peter has the potential to be a world-class SuperCross rider. He displays the kind of focus and reflexes needed to succeed at the international level.
