COPPINS WINS AT NZ SUPERCROSS:

Motorcycle ace Josh Coppins has totally dominated the New Zealand supercross championship event in his home town Motueka.

The Honda star cruised through the weekend virtually unbeaten against opposition headed by former world runner-up Darryll King.
Along the way Coppins picked up South Island titles on both his 250 and 450 four-stroke Honda racebikes. And he leads the New Zealand title chase, although he won\'t be in the country to contest the later rounds.

\"It\'s always good to race at the Rat Track where I grew up as a rider,\" commented 26-year-old Coppins. \"This weekend went really well and I\'m happy with my progress in fitness and on the bike.\"

The nation\'s top motorcycle racer, Coppins flies out next week to begin his European preparation for the world championship beginning in March.
Riding for the Honda factory, he is a leading contender in the glamour class MX1. He took runner-up spot two years ago but was sidelined by serious injury in 2003.
