Yamaha Press Release:

Yamaha Has All The Bases Covered:

Yamaha has the big boys covered with Stefan Everts and Chad Reed dominating internationally, Darryll King ruling the roost in both Australia and New Zealand and Gisborne’s Matt Hunt is slotting in as a leading Kiwi junior. (Not to mention a certain Valentino Rossi in MotoGP and the NZ born Enduro World Champion, Stefan Merriman). Now the blue and white brand also has the youngest age group pinned down with Auckland’s Joel Doeksen wrapping up the 9-10 years’ 85cc class.

It was his first New Zealand title and, judging by his total dominance of the class it won’t be his last one either.

Doeksen has only been racing motocross for two years and rides the same 2003 model Yamaha YZ85 he started out with.
“My role model is Yamaha rider Chad Reed. I hope to be an International star like him one day too,” said Doeksen.
