2005 Trail Blazer Final.

Suzuki Trail Blazer is on again 11 September 2005!

Yes, back by popular demand, the awesome Suzuki Trail Blazer trail ride that was held 14 August near Taupo is going to be run again 11 September with the following improvements and additions;

The main 38 km track will be fully graded by a bulldozer to bring it back to a smooth and flowing condition. Stumps on the main ride line will be chopped out and where the single track was worn, new sections will be put in. A few more hills will be added to provide a bit more of a challenge and variation.

A new and separate 10-20 km trail will be constructed with a bulldozer for a quick 20 minute blast in a new part of the forest.

Some of the tighter single track will include a green arrow option suitable for novice riders and some quad riders.

Plus a local school is doing a fund raising sausage sizzle and there will be gourmet coffee available to buy.

Key Event Information

  • When: Sunday 11 September
  • Where: Te Toke Road, Tahorakuri Forest (State Highway 5) The Taupo to Rotorua road, about 20 km from Taupo.
  • The tracks will be open 9:30am-3:00pm.
  • Cost: Adults $35. 15 years or under $25. 2nd child in family $20. 3rd and subsequent children in family $15.
  • Riders enter on day. There will be no pre entry. Riders can sign on any time from 8:30am.
  • Tracks: 38 km main trail (has a half way short cut home), 10-20 km new trail, Novice 2.5 km trail, kids grass track and kids forest trail.
  • Trail Blazer is suitable for 2 and 4 wheelers.
  • Fire extinguishers, Boots, Helmets and obeying all of the Epic Events Trail Ride Safety Rules will be compulsory.
