Full Throttle Events, NZ’s leading extreme sport management agency announced today that they are planning an event like no other they have attempted before, called “Biketober”.

Take 800 motorcycles, 1000 party goers, a live band, Freestyle MotoX, a bikini and burn-out comp, put them into Hanmer Springs for 2 days and you have the first ever Biketober festival.

Held annually Full Throttle Events is in the planning stages of one of the South Island’s largest biker gatherings and expects it to be an instant sell-out. Four separate events over 2 days will attract thousands of party and bike lovers from all over the country.

Trail Ride: A 6 hour ride for the dirt bikers will take them into the hills of Hanmer with lunch provided in a surprise location before remounting their beasts and returning to Hanmer Springs.

Another 5 hour trail ride will be offered on the Sunday taking riders to never ridden before location and some of the best dirt bike country in the world.

A Road Ride: from Christchurch’s Cathedral Square where bikers will gather before leaving on a 3-hour journey to Hanmer with a lunch stop at the Hurunui Hotel.

A separate marketing campaign will encourage the public to come see the gathering of bikes before they leave Cathedral Square at 12pm.

The Party: The location is yet to be finalised however the Biketober party will be one to remember and will include a live bands, Freestyle MotoX, bikini comp, burn-out comp and a fully licenced Biketober Bar.

Biketober Show: Sunday from 10am – 2pm will see a gathering of 700+ Harley Davidsons, classic and exotic motorcycles displayed in the main street of Hanmer. A proposed road closure will ensure the public can get up close and personal to both the bikes and the riders who ride them.

The Biketober Show will have a carnival style atmosphere with more freestyle motoX from the Full Throttle FMX team, trade displays, apparel and plenty for the whole family. The Biketober show will be backed up with a hard hitting marketing campaign to ensure the Biketober show has all the spectators Hanmer can handle.

Initial discussions with both the Hurunui District Council and business community of Hanmer have been very successful said Full Throttle Events managing director Craig Douglas. “I am very excited with the response I got from the council and different business owners”. I think everyone will benefit from bringing Biketober to Hanmer.
