WIMA National Rally Underway

Posted: Fri 19 Nov 1999

This weekend plays host to a motorcycle rally growing in popularity among male and female motorcyclists. Situated in the Pohangina Valley just outside of Palmerston North the annual WIMA rally is the place to be for good food, great events, and friendly people.

Camp Rangi Woods has a very large grass area that WIMA uses for the Saturday afternoon games, and they range from the wacky to the wicked. No longer is the Slow race the standard event - come along if you fancy a bit of jousting, handbag tossing, motorbike soccor, tug of war, egg tossing and team relays. With a maximum of 140 people present there is no pressure and no embarrassment, just good fun. Kids are more than welcome, and there is usually a couple of learners bikes for them to putter around on.

While WIMA is a club run by women for women, they encourage participation and support from all motorcyclists regardless of gender, age or experience. What it comes down to is we are all motorcyclists looking for a good weekend. Pop along and make some new friends - this rally is the social event of the year!
